marisa0613Hello beautiful ladies! My name is Marisa Kravatz. I am a sophomore in college and I am transferring to the University of Scranton where I will be double majoring in Theology and Counseling as of Fall 2013. I’m an outgoing girl who marches to the beat of her own drum. I love to laugh, sing (in the car), dance, and make other people smile. I love my family, friends, country music, tattoos, good hugs, food, hiking, working out and good books. I also love animals, especially horses and dogs. I’m slightly obsessed with my dog, Phoebe, and I horseback ride competitively. Being in the saddle is one of the two things that make me feel most alive. The other is ministry and service to others.

I absolutely love people. People fascinate and give me so much hope on a daily basis. I truly believe that everyone has good in them and that it can be seen when the time is taken to find it. I want to spend my life finding the good in others and loving them where they are. I want to encounter people and have them walk away knowing that they are loved. Every person has been given incredible gifts. As women, we have some amazing gifts that we are born with and the ability to make such a difference in this world. Unfortunately, society does not seem to magnify and focus on the gifts that women have to share. Society tends to reduce women to how they look and behave.

It won’t be long until you find that I am not the biggest fan of society. Mainly, I’m not a fan of the portrayal of women in society. And that is where I fit into Get Smart. I am here to be your inner feminist and to focus on good of womanhood. I am also here to share my personal stories and life experience. I know what it’s like to be a victim of society. I know what it’s like to compare yourself to the skinny, pretty, size negative 0 models in the magazines, commercials and advertisements. I know what it’s like to be bombarded by the pressure to be “perfect.” And I know what it’s like to be put into a box of what is expected of a woman by means of the magazines and reality TV shows.

I am here to let you know that, ladies, WE ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN THIS!

Women have such a natural beauty that just radiates from them. We have the ability to not only turn heads, but to turn hearts! I believe that if we stick together and see the goodness that we have to bring to this world, we can truly make the world a better place.

So ladies, it’s time. It’s time we see ourselves for who we really are; beautiful, powerful creations. It’s time to start loving ourselves as we are and then loving each other. It’s time to stop buying to the lies society tells us and to fitting into their box. It’s time we work together to make society and the world better. I can’t wait to see what this journey has in store! We’re in this together, and I have a feeling this is going to be one wildly awesome ride.
