Giving back makes your heart happy.

Get Smart Mentoring is committed to teaching young women of all ages that giving back goes a long way. Our mission is to develop authentic compassionate leaders who are aware of the world around them. This fall Get Smart launched its in-school mentoring community programming and began to work with 7th and 8th grade girls. These young women learned character, leadership, and service education during the school day.

Get Smart LOVES Project Ladybug.

Project Ladybug is near and dear to Get Smart. We have worked with this amazing organization in the past to help them raise funds for children with cancer at St. Joseph’s in Paterson, NJ and Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York City. Founded by Dina Manzo in 2007, Project Ladybug is run but an incredible group of women whose hearts are bigger than life. We are so inspired by their entire board of directors who lead tirelessly from love to support children and their families with various programs at the hospitals they support.

Get Smart Girls GIVE BACK!

This month, Get Smart Girls learned about Project Ladybug and helped to make cards and a special video for all the lady and man bugs they serve. Together we discussed what it must be like to be a child in a hospital, sick and scared, especially during the holiday season.

As part of #4TheWorldWeekend we are challenging people to give back — a $10 donation to the charity of their choice. We highly recommend donation that and more to the wonderful work of Project Ladybug. To learn more about this incredible organization and to donate, please click here. We leave you with a video of the New Jersey Get Smart Mentoring Fall 2013 community mentoring program — wishing all the lady and man bugs happiness and health in 2014. Perhaps they will inspire you to give what you can!!
