Ok, I’m not really addicted to food- wait… yes, yes I am.  I love food.  Way more than the average person (I know for a fact!).  I wish I didn’t love food so much, but I do, so I have to deal with it.

getbackup

During the holidays I kind of lost sight of my goals and let loose.  Starting with Halloween all the way through NYE.  I got super busy with school, work, LIFE, etc. and did not eat the way I knew I should be eating.  During this time however, I did learn new things about eating healthy and exercising and was absorbing this information even though I wasn’t putting it into practice.  Today I’m here to tell you to never stop learning about ways to improve yourself.  I am a life-long learner and I get excited to know that I will continue to learn about new ideas and up-to-date info. about the best foods to eat to nourish my body.

In order to bounce back from your interrupted routines…

Keep it FRESH (pun intended)

exercisedeals-find new recipes and create a new dish!

-try new foods you’ve never even heard of (what’s up with that kale stuff?)

-jump into new workout.. a lot of gyms offer free sessions for your first time there.. take advantage and go gym hopping!

-also.. check out Groupon or LivingSocial to get deals on new gyms or exercise classes! that’s how I got into CKO kickboxing!

And if you’re a food addict like me…

Get your fix of your favorite foods!

cheatmeal

Not everyone is… but I am a fan of the “cheat meal” – not a cheat DAY, but ONE meal of your favorite foods (chicken parm with penne vodka anyone?)  I found that when I was not allowing myself a cheat meal, I went into crazy mode, and binged on too much for too long.  Building a cheat into your routine will keep you from loosing your mind (to put it mildly). Obviously, try to keep your cheat portions in check and don’t eat until the button on your jeans flies off.  You get what I mean, right?

And lastly…

Make the ideas come to YOU!

eatthisnotthat

I receive daily emails from “Eat This Not That” which gives quick tips about healthy eating and exercise.  Just put in your email address and let the inspiration come to you!  This is just one of many forms of daily health tips you can receive… go out and research others that fit your needs and interests!

Until next time, have #nofear14.

Xoxo,
