I know I know, its summer and who wants to hear about heartbreak? I have been thinking about starting this series for a while and today I had the urge to start to offer it to the Get Smart community.
I have come to realize in recent months after a truly unexpected and crazy pants heartbreak that they can be the catalysts for some of the most incredible miracles.
Yes it’s true – I had my heart broken. This time it was really from left field. (I am usually the breaker-upper!). The story is now completely irrelevant. What matters is the past 8 months have been the most miraculous time of my entire life.
Heartbreak= Good News Breakdown
Romance is probably one of the craziest things invented. It excites us and ignites us and can tear us apart just as easily. But what if tearing apart was really “breaking open?” I once read that having your heart broken was GOOD NEWS. It’s a sign that you are ALIVE; that you can feel something.
If you’ve recently had your heart broken by someone you really loved, or even if it happened a while ago but it still hurts like yesterday, I am going to be writing for the next few weeks about the beauty of heartbreak.
LESSON 1: Remember your PEOPLE!
These ladies seriously lifted my spirits on the heartbreak highway!
The people in your life LOVE you. During this time it is tempting to hide away. Don’t get me wrong, you WILL need to sit and listen to that playlist that reminds you of that special someone and cry your eyes out, but let yourself BE IN THE SPACE OF LOVE.
Call up your friends, spend time with your family, cuddle with your dog, whatever it takes. Let loving energy flow through you to help heal the initial shock, and going forward they will remind of you of your overflowing awesomeness.
You are surrounded by people who know your true worth. When someone breaks our hearts we can tell ourselves all kinds of ridiculous things. STOP the mind trip down “I suck” highway and remember that your are profoundly loved. Imagine that highway leads to nowhere you want to go and turn the heck around.
The person who will love you would treasure your heart as if it was made of pure gold. Because…SURPRISE – it is.
Stay strong and remember ~ as one person walks away you are being invited to be introduced to someone FABULOUS – YOU!
