I’ve been trying my best to constantly remind myself of how fast this summer is passing and how I must make every moment in my home and with my friends positive and special. I just know that I am going to miss the smallest and silliest things next year when I’m on my own, like eating at my favorite pizza place and watching movies on my couch with friends till 2am. Personally I know to make this transition smoother I’m going to need familiarity and inspiration in my new chapter. So, here are some tips I am using to bring parts of my home life to college and motivate myself:
Prepare for your new college adventure!
1. Recreate your bedroom in your dorm room, whether it be using the same bed spread or just bringing your favorite pillow or stuffed animal.
2. Have a collage building party with your friends so you have photos of each other to bring to your dorm.
3. Create a memory box filled with all of your high school memories (you’ll be so happy you did this when you’re older).
4. Make a vision board for what you want to accomplish at school and in your career.
5. Set clear intentions for your future, both socially and educationally. Write them down where you can see them everyday!
