Hello lovelies,

kristendSo as you may or may not know, I will be picking up and leaving from my little town on Long Island and moving to North Carolina to finish my bachelors degree in about, 45 days…but who is counting?

Here’s the thing, the college that I will be attending this fall has a strict dress policy. Business casual. These words make me a bit nervous, not because I fear clothing restrictions, but because the clothing available to me is restricted!

As a young, plus size girl, it’s hard to find clothing that suits both my size, and my age! Many stores carry larger clothing items with an older demographic in mind, and forget the fact that there are fabulous, young women, with curves…who need to get dressed in the morning too!

I have a few stores in mind that are my “go-to” retailers who sell clothing for women of all shapes and sizes. Some may brand their plus size lines differently, but are making strides in the right direction!

Try out these…

Torrid: my number 1. I always find what I’m looking for here, and their sizes range from a 12- about a 30. Their core demographic is typically about 18-30 year old women, who are looking to keep up with the trends! www.torrid.com

2. Old Navy: I can always find my basics at Old Navy. From tank tops to button downs and dresses, I never feel like I’m being persecuted for needing a size larger than a large. www.oldnavy.com

3. ASOS Curve: If you’re looking for not only the latest trends, but trends of the future, look no further than ASOS. Their clothing is absolutely gorgeous, and is flattering for all of us.

Never be ashamed of who you are, or what you look like. We are all beautiful in our own way. We need to embrace this, and even though it may be tough at times, in the back of your mind, remind yourself that you are unique, and absolutely incredible.

What are your favorite places to shop?
Do you believe in retail therapy…or is that just me?

Kristen.
