Wear it…Don’t Bear It

This week I attended a side walk sale shopping event in Bridgehampton. NY. While venturing down the endless rows of vendors I stumbled upon a group of people seemingly close to my age selling jewelry. They went on to explain how the jewels had a cause…and we all know how us Get Smart girls love a good cause :)!!

Wear It Don’t Bear It is the name of the company and they serve to give aid to families coping with gun-violence tragedies. Being that gun violence seems to be so prominent in our world today I found it awe-inspiring that awareness could be brought to such a crucial cause just from a simple bracelets or necklace.

A quote from http://wearitdontbearit.com reads “Fashion and artistic expression is individual. To rock a t-shirt with a gun design or any other symbol is someone’s prerogative and can cause no harm to others. However, it’s entirely different to bear a gun as a weapon, as a machine intended for killing. Wear It Don’t Bear It illustrates this difference.” To me nothing’s cooler than fashion with a positive message.
